Swing Styles 101
We have 10 different hanging bed swing styles for you to choose from. We know it can be a difficult decision! Our advice is to measure your space to help narrow down your choices. However, if there’s a style you really love – we can build any swing in a custom size. Here's a definitive guide to choosing your Vintage Porch Swing style:
Traditionalists: Noah is a traditional porch swing design that hangs from runners at the front and back. If you’re having trouble picking a style, you can’t go wrong with the Noah. The runners make this one of the larger designs at 89 ½” long.
Small Spaces or Good Views: Mercedes – is streamlined, elegant and inviting. This design is a great fit if you want unique seating that doesn’t block a view, or an interesting accent piece in a small space. Mercedes is one of our most diminutive swings at only 83” long.
Readers and Nappers: Joshua is for you. The high back and arms hold piles of pillows for propping up with a good book.
Modernists: Hayden’s clean lines and contemporary styling make this swing fit right in with that cool transitional and industrial farmhouse look. Hayden is the largest design at 96” long, so it’s great for large spaces or indoor / outdoor sofas.
Sleeping Porch: Hartwell is our favorite sleeping porch swing because it also looks like a porch swing when you rearrange the pillows. The finials give this a traditional day bed look and, at only 83” long, it’s compact size works anywhere a twin bed fits.
Charleston Enthusiasts: Emerson is our nod to traditional Charleston design. This swing is fits right in with Lowcountry and Coastal style. At only 83” long, Emerson fits into tight piazzas!
Nostalgic or Rustic: If you love a little bit of nostalgia in your décor, Eliza may be for you. This swing’s railings may remind you of old rocking chairs and Mission-style furnishings. Eliza is 95” inches long, so make plenty of room for her!
Indoor Bedrooms or Good Views: Brynn comes with a headboard or a headboard and a footboard, which makes it perfect for creating a unique kid’s room, guest room or keeping a good view unobstructed.
Shabby Chic or French Country: Avari is our original hanging bed swing and remains a favorite. We think she looks especially pretty in traditional finishes with neutral fabrics and one color accent. If “ooh la la” is in your vocabulary, Avari is your swing!
Classic or Rugged: Aunt Janie is a classic, sturdy swing with low sides and a high back that seems to fit in anywhere we hang it. Low sides keep those marsh views clear and a high back is plenty of support for relaxing.
