I liked that Vintage Porch Swings is family owned, and I loved the note that came with the swing signed by the kids!
The Customer
Sharon Ralston lives in Winston-Salem, North Carolina with her husband and two dogs, a Wheaton Terrier / Poodle mix (a “Woodle”) named Oliver and a Wheaton Terrier named Emma. With two sons in high school and a daughter at college, volunteer activities and lots of outdoor hobbies, the Ralston’s are busy and put a high premium on quality napping spots. Sharon and her husband also painstakingly designed their new home and were eager find the perfect element to complete their dramatic screened-in porch.
What She Wanted
The Ralston home is a beautiful transitional style custom house with an enviable family room that opens to a large screened porch. The porch also has an entry off the master bedroom, making it a focal point, entertaining space and a quiet spot for reading, morning coffee, or afternoon naps. Because the Ralstons carefully chose the colors and textures of their home, Sharon wanted to ensure her bed swing also complimented the decor in every way.
What She Chose
Sharon chose The Noah because of its simplicity and clean lines. She also likes the low arms, which are just the right height to maintain sight lines through the house and for napping. She worked with theVintage Porch Swings team to get just the right color fabric for the mattress and bolsters, and VPS staff even sent a fabric swatch so she could see the texture and color in person. Sharon opted for a neutral gray mattress and bolsters and added her own throw pillows.
The Results
Sharon’s husband and son installed the bed swing themselves and reported that the instructions were very easy to follow. Her swing compliments the colors of her new home and is a favorite spot on warm days. By adding her own toss pillows, Sharon can change the look of the swing with the seasons or as her tastes change. Oliver the Woodle loves to hang out in the swing with his friend Emma nearby.
